Credit for a Second Residence

If you are considering acquiring a second residence in Belgium and wish to take advantage of the tax benefit related to the long-term savings scheme applicable to your bank loan, it may be useful to consider the purchase in 2023.

The long-term savings scheme allows you to benefit from a tax reduction of 30% of the capital amount repaid during the year, with a maximum of 2,350€, resulting in a maximum annual tax saving of 705€.

The interest on the credit is also deductible from all your real estate income.

Starting from January 1, 2024, this tax advantage on capital repayment will be eliminated, and only the interest will remain deductible.
